Animal Rescue League of Boston (Cape Cod Branch)

The Brewster animal shelter finds homes for abandoned animals. Assist with dog walking, play with the cats, or help with publicity.

Help with activities, membership drive and fundraising to enrich the public school programs on Nantucket.

Habitat for Humanity of Martha's Vineyard

Local affiliate of the international organization. On the island, they work to provide affordable year-round housing. Donate equipment, money or skills.

Harwich Ecumenical Council for the Homeless

The high cost of housing means that this organization provides a critical service. Help with their activities and fundraising.

Martha's Vineyard Agricultural Society

The Society promotes agriculture on the island and sponsors the annual Agricultural Fair (don't miss it). Volunteer to help with the Farmer's Markets or the Fair.

Martha's Vineyard Community Services

Multi-service health and human service agency that provides assistance to many island residents. Volunteer for a few hours at the thrift shop or join a committee.

Private, non-profit group that helps preserve the island's architectural landmarks. Help with tours or special events.

Nantucket Cottage Hospital

The only hospital on the island. Help them provide year round services. Fundraising and special event opportunities.

Nantucket Interfaith Council

A collaboration of island religious groups. Donate food or help out at the food pantry.

Nauset Light Preservation Society

If you love lighthouses, join this Eastham group to raise funds to operate historic Nauset Light.

Osterville Historical Society and Museum

The Society maintains several historic buildings in Osterville and hosts special events for kids and adults.

Osterville Village Association

This active group stages several fun-filled events annually. Volunteer for the Chocolate Fest, Village Day, Fall Festival or the Christmas Stroll.

Samaritans of Cape Cod and the Islands

If you've driven to Cape Cod, you've seen their signs at the bridges. Help staff the 24-hour hotline to provide counseling and assistance to individuals who are depressed or suicidal.

Vineyard Conservation Society

The VCS is dedicated to protecting the island's environment. Volunteer to help with land conservation, education or advocacy.
