Directions: Howe Caverns is located at 255 Discovery Drive in Howes Cave, New York. From New York City and points south, follow the NYS Thruway north and west to Exit 25A for I-88 West, then take exit 22 and follow signs to Howe Caverns. From Montreal and points north, follow the Northway (I-87) south to Exit 1W for the NYS Thruway (I-90) West to Exit 25A. Travel I-88 West to Exit 22, then follow signs to Howe Caverns. Hours: Howe Caverns is open seven days a week year round. It is closed only on Thanksgiving and Christmas Day. As of 2009, hours are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., except in the winter when the caverns close at 5 p.m. Lantern Tours are offered by reservation for adults only on Friday and Saturday evenings year round.
Tickets: As of 2009, admission fees are $18 for adults, $15 for seniors and juniors ages 12 to 15 and $10 for children ages 5 to 11. Children 4 and under are admitted free. Discounted AAA and group rates are available. Lantern tours are $27.
