These photos from the 2011 Newport Flower Show, held June 24-26 in Newport, Rhode Island, capture the incredible efforts of designers and horticulturalists whose work was displayed. I hadn't seen the Newport Flower Show since 2001, and I was impressed by how New England's largest outdoor flower show has expanded and evolved. The show raises funds to support grounds maintenance at Rosecliff and other Preservation Society of Newport County properties
2011's highlight was a recreation of the famed Blue Garden, created in 1913 at the estate of Mrs. Arthur Curtiss James and described by the local paper as "one of the most novel entertainments ever seen in Newport."
Mark your calendar, and don't miss the next Newport Flower Show: June 22-24, 2012.
