As you might imagine, when news hit early in 2011 that Chef would be opening Muse by Jonathan Cartwright--a new restaurant at the Vanderbilt Grace hotel in Newport, Rhode Island--I began salivating the moment the press release hit my inbox. I had the opportunity to feast at Muse on August 1, shortly after its June 2011 debut. From the first canapé to my last bite of soufflé, I found the food at Muse inventive and exquisite. On this photo tour, I'll share highlights of my dining experience and help you to plan a memorable evening at this elegant new addition to Newport's diverse and spectacular array of restaurants.
Our evening began with signature Grace Cocktails on the rooftop deck of the Vanderbilt Grace. The roof is open to all restaurant patrons with a drink purchase. An evening at Muse is an experience to be savored, so during the warm weather months, be sure to allow time to breathe deeply and to marvel at the view of sea and sky from this perch above the historic city.
