Boston's Mayor, Thomas M. Menino, has announced that the city will celebrate the Red Sox' 2004 World Series victory with a parade on Saturday, October 30.

In a statement, Menino said, "The Red Sox and I invite fans and families from all over our area to come celebrate this magnificent victory with us at a rolling rally this Saturday in our city." Estimates are that as many as 5 million Red Sox fans will flood Boston for the parade.

The celebration begins at 10 a.m. at Boylston and Kilmarnock Streets in the Fenway. The Parade will continue along Boylston to Boston Common, then turn onto Tremont Street, concluding at Cambridge Street past City Hall.

The event has been billed a "rolling rally," as there will be no stops along the parade route and no event at City Hall at the parade's conclusion due to concerns about crowd sizes and security.
