Recipe: Peanut Butter Crunch Balls

This cookie recipe for Peanut Butter Crunch Balls comes from The Buttonwood Inn in North Conway, New Hampshire. Reprinted with the permission of the Mount Washington Valley Chamber of Commerce and Visitor's Bureau.
Ingredients:
  • 1/2 lb. margarine (melted)
  • 1 cup vanilla wafers finely crushed
  • 1 cup walnuts chopped fine
  • 1 cup peanut butter
  • 1 package confectionery sugar
  • 6 oz. chocolate chips
  • 1/2 bar paraffin wax
  • wax paper
Preparation:
Mix all ingredients; form into small balls and chill. Best if chilled overnight. Melt 6 oz. package chocolate chips and 1/2 bar paraffin wax in double boiler on stove and dip each ball. Place on wax paper to set. Makes about 75.
