Recipe: Festive Farm Holiday Cookies

Ingredients:
  • 2/3 cup softened butter
  • 1/3 cup Crisco at room temperature
  • 3 eggs beaten
  • 2/3 cup brown sugar
  • 2/3 cup white sugar
  • 2-1/3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 3 oz. of dried fruit mixture such as Harvest Medley by Marlana: cranberry, orange, apple and cherry
  • (optional)1/3 cup chopped pecans or oatmeal
Preparation:
Pre-heat oven to 375 degrees. Use an ungreased cookie sheet. Mix and blend the following wet ingredients: 2/3 cup softened butter, 1/3 cup Crisco at room temperature, 3 eggs beaten, 2/3 cup brown sugar, 2/3 cup white sugar. Sift together the following dry ingredients: 2-1/3 cups of all-purpose flour, 1 tsp salt, 1 tsp baking soda. Add slowly into the wet ingredients listed above.

Add in approximately 3 oz. of dried fruit mixture. Add in 1/3 cup of chopped pecans or oatmeal if desired. Bake for 8-12 minutes depending on type of cookie sheet used.
