Nantucket in the Spring
The Massachusetts island of Nantucket lies 26 miles off the coast of Cape Cod, but a world away, especially in the springtime before summer's crowds arrive.
This seagull has Jetties Beach on Nantucket all to himself on an early May day. Soon, though, summer vacationers will crowd this beach, where fireworks light up the Fourth of July night sky and the Boston Pops play an annual August concert.
