The Sunday River Covered Bridge in Newry, Maine, is known as Artist's Bridge because it is purported to be the most painted and photographed of the nine covered bridges in Maine. Enjoy these photos of this scenic covered bridge, which was built to span Sunday River in 1872 and closed to traffic in 1958 when a newer bridge was constructed downstream.
How to find Artist's Bridge: From Bethel, Maine, follow Route 26 North, then turn left on Sunday River Road and follow covered bridge signs. The road turns to the right before reaching Sunday River Bridge on the left.
