I didn't scour every inch of Hartford County, of course, but in 2000, I went out on a limb and declared that the folks in Farmington, Connecticut, had the Hartford area's highest concentration of creativity when it came to decorating with pumpkins. After all, where else could you see a front yard filled with pink flamingos with their beaks protruding from pumpkin heads? I laughed every time I drove by these mysteriously morphed lawn ornaments on Route 6.

I took photos of some of the most original pumpkin displays I spotted in the weeks leading up to Halloween, and I decided to create a fun collection of Pumpkin Puzzles--online games that you can play on your computer. Some are easy; some are hard. All of them are addictive! And when you assemble the puzzle pieces, you'll be left with photographic images of some of the clever pumpkin displays devised by folks in the Farmington area.

So when you need a break from work or school, take a few minutes to try your hand at these pumpkin puzzles. Good luck!
