L.L. Beckius is a native New Englander and well-traveled five-year-old. Although she wasn't due to arrive until November 12, 2002, she made her debut two-and-a-half weeks early so that she wouldn't miss her very first leaf peeping season.

Her mother, About.com's New England Travel Guide Kim Knox Beckius, was working on her second book, Backroads of New England, while L.L. was incubating, so she was born an experienced road warrior. Her early travel adventures--everything from staying at her first B&B and enjoying her first spa treatment to driving her first lobster boat--have been chronicled on About.com's New England Travel site. Now, L.L. contributes her own unique perspective on some of her favorite kid-friendly New England places and attractions.
