It's my twelfth year of sharing weekly photos of the view outside my window with fall foliage fanatics around the globe, and I'm more excited than ever this year. That's because I have a brand new view! In June, we bought a remodeled and expanded 1880 farmhouse on an acre and a quarter, and we finally managed to move in before school started in August. My new office--in a separate building--is newly painted, and I'll be racing the leaves this year as I set up shop in my spacious digs. Fortunately, the scene is still very green here in central Connecticut, although my daughter and I have already pressed a few pretty leaves that have fallen on our street to mail to folks who've requested free leaves. It was an extraordinarily hot and fairly dry summer, but the weather has turned suddenly cool, so we may see colors emerging on the early side this year. Stay tuned!
