The trees in my view are really starting to look skeletal for the first time this week, and yet, rich autumn reds and rusts persist, giving intense color to an otherwise gray afternoon. The few shiny leaves that cling to the birch tree on the left look like a sprinkling of golden confetti: a celebration of what has truly been a remarkable fall season.
