Cheer for the Home Teams This Fall

Fall is football, and so much more! Here are some fall sporting events you might want to check out if you're visiting New England or New York this autumn:

Head of the Charles Regatta
The Head of the Charles Regatta is the largest fall spectator sport in New England. Watch rowers from around the world compete from vantage points in Boston and Cambridge. The 2009 race is scheduled for October 17-18.

Boston Celtics Pre-Season Basketball
The Boston Celtics' 2009 pre-season schedule in New England starts with an October 9 game vs. the New York Knicks and an October 11 game vs. the New Jersey Nets at the TD Garden in Boston, and the Celtics will also play a pre-season game against the Toronto Raptors on October 14 at the XL Center in Hartford, Connecticut. Pre-season tickets go on sale August 27, and ticket information is available at the Celtics Web site.

Brown Bears Football
Find all of the schedule and ticket information you need if you want to cheer on the Brown University Division I-AA football team in Providence, Rhode Island. Upcoming home opponents are: Rhode Island October 3, Holy Cross October 10, Princeton October 17, Penn October 31 and Dartmouth November 14.

Cheer on the Orangemen
Syracuse University's Big East football team will meet a variety of opponents at the Carrier Dome this year. Get tickets to cheer them on at home in New York against Minnesota September 5, Northwestern September 19, Maine September 26, South Florida October 3, West Virginia October 10, Akron October 24, Cincinnati October 31 and Rutgers November 21.

New England Patriots Tickets
New England's major league football team is a hot ticket, and you're bound to struggle if you're looking to get to a game this season. TicketsNow has Patriots tickets available--you'll pay a premium, but it may be the only way to get to the game.

Tufts University Men's Soccer
If soccer's your passion, cheer on New England's competitive Tufts University team. Home games are played at Kraft Field on the university campus in Medford, Massachusetts.

UConn Huskies Football
The UConn Huskies are New England's newest Big East football team. Watch them play at home in East Hartford, Connecticut, at Rentschler Field on September 12 vs. North Carolina, on September 26 vs. Rhode Island, on October 17 vs. Louisville, on October 31 vs. Rutgers, on November 28 vs. Syracuse or on December 5 vs. University of South Florida.
