Boston Harborfest is much more than a Fourth of July celebration. More than 200 events highlighting Boston's role in the founding of the United States make this America's Biggest Birthday Party. Events are held around the waterfront and downtown areas and include walking tours of historical sites, lectures, reenactments, outdoor concerts, fireworks and even a Chowderfest. More than half of the events are free.

The Tanglewood Music Center in Lenox, Massachusetts, is the summer home of the Boston Symphony Orchestra (BSO) and the setting for a wide variety of musical performances each year. Tanglewood on Parade is an annual tradition featuring a full day of activities, culminating in a gala concert by the Boston Symphony, Boston Pops and Tanglewood Music Center orchestras. Works include the traditional performance of Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture featuring fireworks.
