New England's premier outdoor flower show is held each year at Rosecliff, one of Newport's historic mansions. The colorful event features judged plants, flowers and exhibits; lectures by gardening experts and a gardening marketplace. The theme of the 2011 Newport Flower Show is "Entertaining Newport Style." 30th Annual Boston Harborfest
Boston Harborfest is much more than a Fourth of July celebration. More than 200 events highlighting Boston's role in the founding of the United States make this America's Biggest Birthday Party. Events are held around the waterfront and downtown areas and include walking tours of historical sites, lectures, reenactments, outdoor concerts, fireworks and even a Chowderfest. More than half of the events are free.

Tanglewood on Parade

The Tanglewood Music Center in Lenox, Massachusetts, is the summer home of the Boston Symphony Orchestra (BSO) and the setting for a wide variety of musical performances each year. Tanglewood on Parade is an annual tradition featuring a full day of activities, culminating in a gala concert by the Boston Symphony, Boston Pops and Tanglewood Music Center orchestras. Works include the traditional performance of Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture featuring fireworks.

America's oldest state fair is the Empire State's largest annual event. In addition to traditional agricultural fair exhibits and competitions, this mega-fair features concerts by top national recording artists, a daily parade, a Sports Activity Center, midway rides and games and a giant butter sculpture.
