New England in Bloom 2000
Garden Tours, Flower Festivals, and Other
Horticultural Happenings in New England

Dateline: 1/6/00

Though it's only January, it'll be no time at all before New England is back in bloom. If you love strolling through historic gardens, breathing deeply of the perfume of spring flowers in bloom, or deriving inspiration for your own home landscape from garden shows and flower festivals, here's your Year 2000 guide to floral and garden events happening in the six New England states.

From the venerable New England Flower Show in Boston, which marks its 129th year this March, to Daffodil Days in Bristol, Rhode Island, in April, to May's Lilac Festival at the Shelburne Museum in Vermont, if flowers and gardening are your passion, New England is your perfect destination.

The annual Rose Weekend in June at America's oldest municipal rose garden, Hartford, Connecticut's Elizabeth Park, is one of New England's top garden events.
