MGM Grand at Foxwoods Guest Review submitted by: Hammy Rating: One Gold Leaf. Bring a cot.
We arrived at 3:45 p.m. on Sunday (5/25) for a two-night stay. We were told our room wasn't ready because it wasn't 5:00. However, I could bring my 2-year-old, 4-year-old, 8-months-pregnant wife and senior parent to the pool to wait. The pool was a mess. The people in the hot tub were discussing a drug transaction, and there was no place to change. At 5:00, I went to check for a room again: still not ready. We did not get a room until 8:15 p.m., and the room they gave us had dirty sheets, dirty bathtub, unvacuumed floor and no TV remote. We couldn't be moved because there were no other rooms at our reservation level. I had them move us to the next better suite, which was also dirty. However, I needed to put my kids to bed. Luckily, I had a blow-up mattress, so they had a place to sleep while we waited for housekeeping. There were no managers available at all from 3 until 9 p.m. to speak with frustrated hotel guests. The excuse I got was that the hotel had just opened. [Editor's Note: MGM Grand at Foxwoods officially opened to the public on May 18, 2008.] On the second day, housekeeping never serviced our room. We waited until 6 p.m. before we finally told the front desk we could not wait any longer and were going home. I had to ask them to comp the room after all that happened. It should have been automatic. Shame on you MGM. |
