The Inn at Thorn Hill & Spa Guest Review submitted by: JoAnn Harper, nejorob@msn.com Rating: Five Gold Leaves. The best!
We visited The Inn at Thorn Hill & Spa, a country inn in Jackson Village, New Hampshire, October 15-17, 2004 for a very special birthday celebration and foliage visit. Upon arriving, we were greeted by Lois, a lovely person who loves her job. We were given a tour of the inn and taken to our room. When we chose our room on their Web site in the summer after reading "Yankee Magazine," we chose the Tuckermans Suite. Luckily, we booked early, as the inn was very full for weeks. We were familiar with the inn prior to their fire, but the new Inn at Thorn Hill was beyond our imagination. No stone has been left unturned. Talk about romance and elegance. This is not for children (in my opinion). It is for couples who want to get away. Our room had a two-person Jacuzzi and a two-person steam shower, as well as a King Bed, a fireplace (gas) and a TV. The TV and the fireplace were between the sitting room and the bedroom (visible from both). We made it a point to spend one afternoon trying out all of the amenities offered. The AFC championship Red Sox/Yankees game was on, so we spent our time between our room and the excellent lounge at the inn. The dining room offers dinner each evening, and with the room rate, a gourmet breakfast is included. I have been told that all future reservations will also include dinner. The meals were excellent and were very convenient for those who wanted to see the sights by day, but stay in at night. The special part of The Inn at Thorn Hill for us was the wrap-a-round porch. The view was great, and it was on the porch that, on my 50th birthday, I received the marriage proposal I had so hoped for. |
