Rating: Five gold leaves. The best!

This fabulous campground, which has been the favorite of my family for years, is located in Arlington, Vermont (in about the center of the state). Pricing is far less than I would have originally expected for this beautiful area. The campground is located directly on the clear Battenkill River. The fishing, swimming and tubing are all wonderful. There is a cute playground for kids (another is directly next to the campground and is open to campers, but not advertised) and there are biking trails throughout the camping area.

The entire place is so safe that I felt comfortable allowing my young children (ages 7 and 9) to bike around together without me. Campfires at night are always a fun family event. The owner, who has become our friend over the years, walks around and seems to know everyone. She is incredibly nice, as is everyone else there. The restrooms (with toilets, sinks, mirrors and showers) were always clean and had hot water. The campground itself is so much fun that you could stay there, or go to a restaurant, get ice cream or go shopping without driving far at all. (I'd say 20 minutes tops!)

If you truly want a great time, try this place out for yourself!
