Autumn Views from Central Connecticut: 1999 Archive
Make a cup of hot tea or cider, and wherever you are in the world, sit back for a moment and glance through a New England window at the last fall of the 1900s. Enjoy!
November 17, 1999
I refuse to believe that fall is over... and the few touches of gold that still linger in
the weeping willows outside my window are abetting my imagination.
November 6, 1999
The once colorful tree on the left side of my view is now completely bare--a wind storm
during the week ripped the leaves from their limbs and even blew away all of the leaves
littered on the ground in the view from five days ago. The only signs of color that remain
are the few touches of gold in the weeping willows off to the right.

Sigh... the leaves are leaving already! My spooky cat, Spike, once again feels compelled
to share the spotlight with the changing view.
October 25, 1999
Ah, yes! Finally a full blaze of color.
October 21, 1999
What a difference a few days makes! It's beginning to look a lot like fall outside my
window.

Our latest installment of As the Leaves Turn reveals some bright oranges, but the
green leaves are still hanging on! Stay tuned....
October 12, 1999
This late afternoon photo reveals the first real glimpses of gold in the view. One tree
off in the distance on the right has turned completely gold, and there are gold flecks,
too, in the tree in the foreground on the left.

Well, the weather finally cooperated outside my window so that I could get a new photo,
and, from a slightly different angle this week, you can actually see touches of gold
creeping into the landscape.
September 24, 1999
Not much has changed, except my mangy black cat, Spike, decided to peek out the window
with me this week.
September 17, 1999
Connecticut did suffer quite a drought this summer, but
predictions of an early fall may be inaccurate. Everything is still very green outside my
window as of mid-September.
