October 29, 2008
We don't usually dream of a white Halloween in New England, but some parts of Connecticut actually got snow last night! We only had rain, but it was enough to bring down plenty of leaves, and in this final look at the view outside my window, you can see that only a few touches of late-season gold remain. Although I always hate to bid foliage season good-bye, I have wonderful memories of the splendid fall colors I observed over Columbus Day Weekend and of the amusing and amazing hay art sculptures I saw in Killington, Vermont, which will be on display for the next month or so. If you missed seeing New England's fall splendor for yourself this year, be sure to plan ahead for a 2009 New England fall foliage trip. Thanks for sharing this season with me!
