Subscribe to the New England for Visitors free weekly email newsletter, New England NewsBeam, and be entered to win a traditional New England lobster/clam bake for two, delivered to your doorstep courtesy of TheLobsterGuy.com. Their motto is, "Live for live lobsters and enjoy live lobsters for life!" One entry per person per week, please (weeks ending Sundays 10/17, 10/24, 10/31, and 11/7 1999). Official rules appear below the entry form. All entries must be received no later than midnight Eastern time on November 7, 1999. All email addresses will also be made available to TheLobsterGuy.com for future promotional emailings.
Official Rules - Traditional New England Lobster/Clam Bake Giveaway
Sweepstakes begins at 4:00 PM Eastern on October 11, 1999 and
ends at midnight on November 7, 1999. Sweepstakes is open to any individual age 21 or
older as of October 11, 1999 who is a legal resident of the 48 continental United States
and who had Internet access prior to October 11, 1999.
Entrants must be present in the United States at the time they enter the Sweepstakes. To
enter, fill in your first and last name, email address, and mailing address on the entry
form and click on the "Enter" button. Alternate means of entry: hand print on a
3" x 5" postcard your first and last name, street address, city, state, zip code
and email address (if any), and mail it to: New England for Visitors/New England Clam Bake
Sweepstakes, Attention: Kim Knox, c/o About.com, 220 East 42nd Street, 24th Floor, New
York, New York 10017.
Limit one entry per entrant per week during the entry period.
Entries are void if they contain typographical or other errors. Entries which are
mutilated, altered, incomplete, tampered with, illegible, inaccurate, forged, irregular in
any way, or otherwise not in compliance with these Official Rules are also void.
PRIZE
One winner will receive TheLobsterGuy.com's traditional New England
lobster/clam bake for two, including delivery to any shipping address within the
continental United States. Delivery is available Tuesday through Friday (holidays
excluded). Prizes are courtesy of TheLobsterGuy.com.
The value of the prize is $47.99 plus applicable shipping charges, which range from $23 to
$38 depending upon winner's location.
Sweepstakes is void where prohibited, taxed, or otherwise
restricted. The information that you provide in connection with the Sweepstakes may be
used for internal purposes and to send you newsletters and other information, but will not
be provided to third parties, except as necessary for the administration of the
Sweepstakes or as required by law or legal process.
Entries and other submitted material become the property of Sponsor and will not be
acknowledged or returned. Sponsor and those working for them or on their behalf will not
be responsible for lost, late, misdirected, damaged, or postage due mail or email and for
Internet, computer hardware and software, phone, and other technical errors, malfunctions,
and delays. In the event of a dispute concerning who submitted an email entry, the entry
will be deemed to have been submitted by the holder of the email account.
The sponsor reserves the right in its sole discretion to modify or cancel all or any
portions of the Sweepstakes because of technical errors or malfunctions, viruses, hackers,
or for other reasons that corrupt the Sweepstakes in any manner. Sponsor also reserves the
right to disqualify any entrant for any reason.
Winner will be selected in a random drawing on or about November 12, 1999 of all eligible
entries received. All online entries must be received by November 7, 1999 at midnight EST.
The winner will be notified by email (if applicable), and/or mail to arrange for weekday
delivery. The odds of winning depend upon the number of eligible entries received.
Officers, directors, representatives, and employees of General Internet Inc., About.com,
TheLobsterGuy.com, their affiliates or subsidiaries, or their respective advertising,
promotion, publicity, production, and judging agencies and their families and household
members, are not eligible to enter.
By entering or accepting a prize in the Sweepstakes, winners agree to be bound by these
Official Rules and to comply with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations. All
federal, state, and local taxes are the winner’s sole responsibility. The prizes will
be awarded. No prize substitutions, transfers, or cash alternatives permitted except the
Sponsor reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value at the
Sponsor's sole discretion.
By entering, or accepting a Sweepstakes prize, the winner accepts
all of the conditions, restrictions, requirements, and/or regulations required by the
Sponsor and also agrees to accept delivery of each prize based upon availability. Unless
otherwise prohibited by law, acceptance of a prize constitutes permission to use winner's
name and address (city and state) for advertising and publicity purposes for Sponsor and
for this and/or similar promotions, without compensation.
Entrants agree to release and hold harmless General Internet Inc., About.com,
TheLobsterGuy.com, their respective affiliates and subsidiaries, and each of their
directors, officers, employees, agents, successors, and assigns, from any damage, injury,
death, loss, or other liability that may arise from entrants’ participation in the
Sweepstakes or the awarding, acceptance, use, or misuse of any prize. All entrants agree
that United States law shall apply exclusively to the Sweepstakes and that any dispute
with respect to the Sweepstakes shall be resolved in either the federal or state courts
located in the State of New York.
