This is the easiest dinner recipe in my repertoire--just mix three ingredients, and voila! You have an incredibly tasty sauce for pork chops. Of course, there is a secret New England ingredient--Samuel Adams Boston Lager.

Serves 2-4 people.

You'll Need:
Electric Skillet or Frying Pan
Measuring Cups
Bottle Opener

Prep Time: 0 hours, 05 minutes

Cook Time: 0 hours, 45 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 4-8 boneless pork chops, about 1 inch thick
  • 1/3 cup ketchup
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar packed firmly
  • 1 bottle Samuel Adams Boston Lager or your favorite beer
  • salt
  • pepper

Preparation:

Mix together ketchup, brown sugar, and all but about two swigs of the Samuel Adams Boston Lager (sorry--you'll have to drink the rest!) to make the sauce. Set aside.

Brown pork chops over medium high heat in electric skillet or in frying pan on stovetop. Make sure pork is thoroughly cooked. Season with salt and pepper. Add sauce, reduce heat to low, and simmer for about a half hour or until sauce thickens.

Note: Serve with hot buttered corn on the cob, angel hair tossed with butter and parsley, apple sauce, Caesar salad, and/or mashed potatoes.
