How Much Do Curds Weigh?

After the water and whey are removed, the remaining cheese curds are piped into tall towers, where they are pressed. The pressed curds are then bagged in 42- to 44-pound chunks. If you've never tasted cheese curds, your tour guide may just let you sample a few. The taste is rather bland and mild, but the interesting thing is the texture. Curds squeak between your teeth when you bite into them.
