Vanderbilt Mansion The Breakers at Christmas

While not as large as the Great Hall Christmas tree, this beautiful tree in the library at The Breakers in Newport, Rhode Island, tastefully matches the dark, warm feel of the room's Renaissance-style carved walnut paneling. Though the Cornelius Vanderbilt family spent the Christmas holiday season at its New York residence or abroad, the holiday decorations at The Breakers attempt to convey the sense of elegance associated with the home.
