This is the Life | |

The trained bears at Clark's Trading Post in Lincoln, New Hampshire, perform three shows a day. Trainer Murray Clark told the Bear Show audience that bears in captivity live much longer than their brethren in the wild. In the wild, a bear's average lifespan is seven years. At Clark's, the oldest living bear is 22 now. Clark said that he's retired and receiving all of the benefits of retirement--two meals a day, three houses to choose from, Social Security, Medicare (Medibear?).... Since 1930 when the first bears arrived at Clark's Trading Post, the oldest bear ever lived an amazing 38 years and 7 months. Clark said that there are a lot of wild bears who would like to get a job there!
