New England Q&A Archive

Question 39 - May 16, 2000

Hi! My mother is looking for a Boston Bean Pot to cook her beans in. Many crock pots are not suitable for cooking with--the glazes have lead or some foreign substance in them. I used to live in Boston and bean pots were everywhere. Now I can't find one! Do you know a URL where I can purchase one and have it shipped to California?

Thanks!
Linda S

Answer from Kim Knox,

Hi Linda!

As a matter of fact, I do! :-) I wrote an article earlier this year about Boston Baked Beans, and near the end you'll find several places that sell and ship baked bean kits that include bean pots.

Hope that helps!

All best wishes,
Kim Knox
