Question 22 - November 1, 1999
Hi, My husband and I are staying at the Newbury Guest House in Boston on Christmas Eve (Friday) through Monday. We were concerned if any restaurants would be open on Christmas. Do you have any places that you know of or could recommend? Thanks for your help.

Answer from Kim Knox,

Hi Christy,
Well, I just called one of my favorite Boston restaurants, the Old Union Oyster House,
and they are closed on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. I asked the fellow I spoke with if
most restaurants in Boston closed on Christmas Day, and he said, "yes." He said
the only places that might be open would be hotel restaurants. I also called Legal Seafoods, and all of their Boston area
locations are closed on Christmas Day.
Your best bet might be to ask the owners of the guest house where you are staying to call
around for you to some of the larger city hotels to find out if they are serving dinner on
Christmas Day.
Sorry not to be more helpful, but it's good that you are thinking about this ahead of
time!
All best wishes,
Kim Knox
