New England Q&A Archive
Question 10 - August 4, 1999
My wife and I would like to tour New England and Eastern Canada this fall. We would
like to visit Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, and Massachusetts as well as Montreal and
Quebec. We can spend 15 days maximum. We had intended to take a bus tour through the area.
However, I am not getting much information from the Web regarding such tours or one that
fits our interest. Can you help?
Thanks,
Charlie
Answer from Kim Knox,
About.com Guide to New England for Visitors:
Hi Charlie!
Well, believe it or not, sitting here near the top of the pile on my desk is a brochure I
just received recently from Maupintour escorted Fall Foliage Tours in New England. The
itineraries range from 7 to 10 days, and though none of them appear to include Canada,
they DO take in some of the best sites to see in New England during the autumn. You may
want to call and request a copy of this brochure. Their toll-free telephone number is 800
255-4266. You can also visit their Web site at http://www.maupintour.com
Last year, I did a feature on Fall Foliage Tours
that included several companies that offered bus tours. While I haven't
yet had a chance to update it for the 1999 foliage season, I think you may find some
additional bus tour providers listed there who are probably offering similar New England
itineraries this fall.
Charlie, I hope that helps to get you started, and please do not hesitate to write again
if you have additional questions. Or, feel free to post your question in the New England for Visitors Forum as
well if you'd like to try to get some input from others.
All best wishes,
Kim Knox
