Official Rules - Adventure Guide Giveaway
Sweepstakes begins at 7 a.m. Eastern on November 8, 1999 and ends
at midnight on November 18, 1999. Sweepstakes is open to any individual age 21 or older as
of November 8, 1999 who is a legal resident of the United States and who had Internet
access prior to November 8, 1999.
Entrants must be present in the United States at the time they enter the Sweepstakes. To
enter, fill in the ISBN number for the Adventure Guide to Massachusetts & Western
Connecticut, your first and last name, email address, and mailing address on the
entry form and click on the "Enter" button. Alternate means of entry: hand print
on a 3" x 5" postcard your first and last name, street address, city, state, zip
code and email address (if any), and mail it to: New England for Visitors/Adventure Guide

Limit one entry per entrant per day during the entry period.
Entries are void if they contain typographical or other errors. Entries which are

PRIZE
One winner will receive a copy of the Adventure Guide to Massachusetts & Western
Connecticut, including delivery to any mailing address within the United States.

Publishing. The value of the prize is $17.95.
Sweepstakes is void where prohibited, taxed, or otherwise
restricted. The information that you provide in connection with the Sweepstakes may be
used for internal purposes and to send you newsletters and other information, but will not
be provided to third parties, except as necessary for the administration of the
Sweepstakes or as required by law or legal process.
Entries and other submitted material become the property of Sponsor and will not be
acknowledged or returned. Sponsor and those working for them or on their behalf will not
be responsible for lost, late, misdirected, damaged, or postage due mail or email and for
Internet, computer hardware and software, phone, and other technical errors, malfunctions,
and delays. In the event of a dispute concerning who submitted an email entry, the entry
will be deemed to have been submitted by the holder of the email account.
The sponsor reserves the right in its sole discretion to modify or cancel all or any
portions of the Sweepstakes because of technical errors or malfunctions, viruses, hackers,
or for other reasons that corrupt the Sweepstakes in any manner. Sponsor also reserves the
right to disqualify any entrant for any reason.
Winner will be selected in a random drawing on or about November 20, 1999 of all eligible
entries received. All online entries must be received by November 18, 1999 at midnight
EST.
The winner will be notified by email (if applicable), and/or mail to arrange for shipment.
The odds of winning depend upon the number of eligible entries received.
Officers, directors, representatives, and employees of General Internet Inc., About.com,
Hunter Publishing, their affiliates or subsidiaries, or their respective advertising,
promotion, publicity, production, and judging agencies and their families and household
members, are not eligible to enter.
By entering or accepting a prize in the Sweepstakes, winners agree to be bound by these
Official Rules and to comply with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations. All
federal, state, and local taxes are the winner’s sole responsibility. The prizes will
be awarded. No prize substitutions, transfers, or cash alternatives permitted except the
Sponsor reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value at the
Sponsor's sole discretion.
By entering, or accepting a Sweepstakes prize, the winner accepts
all of the conditions, restrictions, requirements, and/or regulations required by the
Sponsor and also agrees to accept delivery of each prize based upon availability. Unless
otherwise prohibited by law, acceptance of a prize constitutes permission to use winner's
name and address (city and state) for advertising and publicity purposes for Sponsor and
for this and/or similar promotions, without compensation.
Entrants agree to release and hold harmless General Internet Inc., About.com, Hunter
Publishing, their respective affiliates and subsidiaries, and each of their directors,
officers, employees, agents, successors, and assigns, from any damage, injury, death,
loss, or other liability that may arise from entrants’ participation in the
Sweepstakes or the awarding, acceptance, use, or misuse of any prize. All entrants agree
that United States law shall apply exclusively to the Sweepstakes and that any dispute
with respect to the Sweepstakes shall be resolved in either the federal or state courts
located in the State of New York.
