The Apple Barn

Apple Barn Vermont

The Apple Barn in Bennington, Vermont, is a fun place to shop for local products.

(c) 1999 Kim Knox Beckius
Heading back south from the center of Bennington on Route 7, I made a brief stop at The Apple Barn, a delightful shop featuring apples from Southern Vermont Orchards, fresh pressed cider, baked pies straight from the oven, maple syrup and a pick-your-own pumpkin patch.

The Apple Barn's Harry Diamond said The Apple Barn, which is open through mid-December, seeks to be an "Agritainment Facility." He said, "We try to have things that are different and unique that the customer would enjoy."

If you can't make it to Vermont but you've got a hankering for genuine Vermont products, The Apple Barn ships apple gift packs, maple syrup, pancake mixes, Vermont cheddar cheese, Vermont honey, and other specialty products. Order online at The Apple Barn's Web site, or call them toll free at 888 8APPLES to order or to request a free catalog.
