Warning: While you will not find any nude photos here on the New England Travel site, once you follow a link from this guide to one of the featured nudist resorts, I cannot guarantee that you will not see pictures of naked people. If nudity offends you, please proceed with caution.

6. Abbott's Glen 4 Seasons Resort
3542 VT Route 112, Jacksonville, VT, 802-368-2525

This southern Vermont inn and campground is one of the few New England properties that offers year-round nude getaways. A restored barn clubhouse with a woodstove, hot tub and restaurant is the place to be in the winter if you ask me (although nude ice skating, sledding, snowshoeing and cross-country skiing are options). Come summer, enjoy the scenic, 50-acre property's pond, river, waterfall and orchard. Day rates are available to guests who want to stop by for a nude fall hike or winter snowshoe, followed by a relaxing hot tub soak.

7. Sandy Terraces Associates Family Nudist Campground
Marstons Mills, Massachusetts, 508-428-9209

Want to experience Cape Cod sans clothing? This secluded, 10-acre campground is located near the Cape Cod National Seashore. Trailer and cottage rentals are available if you don't own your own tent or RV, and day rates are also available. Facilities feature a lakefront beach; sauna; volleyball, tennis, and shuffleboard courts; a sunning deck and a heated clubhouse.

8. Sherwood Forest Club
11 Pine Street, Dover-Foxcroft, Maine, 207-564-3030

Summer is naturally the nudism high season in New England, but this nudist/naturist club sponsors off-season, indoor nudist events in the spring, fall and winter months. Membership is limited to couples and families. First-timers are warmly welcomed.

9. Solair Recreation League
65 Ide Perrin Road, Woodstock, Connecticut, 860-928-9174

Solair in Connecticut's "Quiet Corner" is one of the oldest continually operating nudist/naturist facilities in the United States. Established in 1935, the 450-acre property offers a variety of rustic accommodations options. Pets are welcome, but they can't go nude--they must wear collars and leashes at all times. You'll find a busy schedule of organized recreational activities for adults and children, plus tennis courts, shuffleboard, volleyball, a beach and a pool.

10. Sun Ridge Resort
131 Calvin French Road, Sterling, Connecticut, 860-779-1512

Open May 1 through the fourth Sunday in September, Sun Ridge Resort offers campsites that are available by the day, week or month. Pets are welcome (proof of current rabies vaccine is required). Recreational amenities include a 60-foot swimming pool, a heated conversation pool, a sand volleyball court, tennis courts, billiard tables, a library and more. Located in southeastern Connecticut near both the Rhode Island and Massachusetts borders, this nude recreation destination provides proximity to many regional attractions including the Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun Casinos, where you can't go nude, although you can lose your shirt.
