Exhibition Schedule: "Gems of the East and West: The Jewelry Collection of Doris Duke," will be on exhibit at Rough Point, the Newport, Rhode Island, home of Doris Duke, through September 30, 2003. The exhibition will then travel to The Honolulu Academy of the Arts in November, followed by The Newark Museum in early 2004.

Admission: The jewelry collection is only accessible to those who first tour the Doris Duke mansion, which is owned and operated by the Newport Restoration Foundation (NRF), an organization Duke founded in 1968. There is no additional admission fee for the jewelry exhibition. Tour tickets are $25 and may be reserved online or purchased at The Newport Gateway Center at 23 America's Cup Avenue. As each tour is limited to 12 people, advance reservations are a good idea.

Hours: Tours depart from The Newport Gateway Center every 20 minutes from 10 a.m. until 3:20 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. Tours last about one hour. Monday is reserved for group tours of up to 36 people. Group tour reservations may be made by calling (401) 849-7300.

Getting to Rough Point: There is no parking at Rough Point. All access is via a free shuttle from The Newport Gateway Center. For those who arrive at Rough Point on foot or via the RIPTA trolley, tickets may be purchased at the door.

Handicapped Access: The tour is fully handicapped-accessible, and special arrangements for access to the site may be made by calling (401) 849-7300, as the shuttle van is not equipped to accommodate handicapped passengers.

For More Information: Call (401) 849-7300.
