Center Meetinghouse

Picture - Center Meetinghouse at Old Sturbridge Village

A church or "meetinghouse" was located in most early 19th century New England towns. Old Sturbridge Village's Center Meetinghouse was erected in Sturbridge, Massachusetts, in 1832. It was moved to Old Sturbridge Village in 1947. Many couples still choose to be married within the historic structure. For information on weddings at Old Sturbridge Village, call (508) 347-0398. Everyone is invited to at least one wedding here every year--a 19th-century New England Wedding is reenacted each summer. Visit the Old Sturbridge Village Web site for a calendar of events.
