Looking for a place to stay while you enjoy fall's splendor in Connecticut this year? Here are some ideas:

Bee and Thistle Inn and Spa
Built in 1756, this antique-filled inn in Old Lyme, Connecticut, is a great home base from which to watch the seasons change along the Connecticut River.

Best Western Regent Inn (Book Direct)
Located in the "Quiet Corner" of Connecticut, this Mansfield Center chain hotel is a good choice for leaf peepers traveling with little ones. This affordable hotel offers an indoor pool, free Continental breakfast, free high-speed wireless Internet and affordable rates (some rooms are priced under $100 in the fall). Several nearby state parks make great fall hiking destinations, and Old Sturbridge Village, a great fall day trip destination, is just across the Massachusetts state line.

The Boulders Inn
This country inn on Lake Waramaug in the rolling hills of Litchfield puts you within reach of boutiques, antiques and crafts shops, historic museums, wineries, walking trails, horseback riding and miles of scenic driving.

The Deacon Timothy Pratt Bed & Breakfast
Listed on the National Historic Register, this 1746 Deacon's home turned inn has a two-century-old maple tree with a swing in the yard--what a romantic setting for your foliage vacation.

The Griswold Inn
This warm and cozy inn in Essex, Connecticut, is one of America's oldest continuously operated inns; it's been welcoming guests since 1776. Known for its hearty Hunt Breakfast served on Sundays, it also offers 30 individually decorated guest rooms for fall travelers.

The Inn at Mystic
Overlooking Mystic Harbor and Long Island Sound, The Inn at Mystic offers scenic autumn views and the fresh, crisp air of the sea. Check out the two-night Innkeeper's Four Season Package, available Sunday through Thursday (excluding holidays), which includes one dinner and tickets to one attraction (choice of Mystic Seaport or Mystic Aquarium). Check rates at Kayak.com

Rock Hall
Rock Hall is a private Connecticut estate turned elegant four-room inn, and fall is an ideal time to discover its secluded location, Jazz Age vibe, in-room fireplaces and wonderful common areas including a movie theater, billiard room, library, great hall and game room outfitted with everything from a ping-pong table to Wii Fit. This 1912 mansion designed by architect Addison Mizner of Palm Beach fame is situated in scenic northwestern Connecticut within easy driving distance of many of southern New England's prime leaf-peeping destinations.

Water's Edge Resort & Spa
This Westbrook resort on Connecticut's shore offers a variety of getaway packages and proximity to vineyards, historic sites, outlet shopping and great places to stroll through crunchy leaves.
