Bring the whole clan! The New Hampshire Highland Games are considered the premier Highland Games in the U.S., according to the ABA. This event features entertainment from Scotland and North America and combines the best of Celtic and Gaelic cultures. There will be bagpipe bands on hand to entertain visitors during a pipe band parade. Competitions include contests of strength, sheepdog trials, and the U.S. National fiddling championship. The Highland Games make the ABA's Top 100 Events list for the second consecutive year.

It's the second year in the Top 100 for Stowe Oktoberfest, as well! Fall's crisp chill will just be closing in on Vermont when the Jackson Ice Arena in Stowe is transformed into a Bavarian village for this annual celebration of harvests, fall foliage, and the finest in local delicacies. Oompah bands, authentic German food, and fresh-brewed, local beer are on tap.
