Head for the Sun: Mohegan Sun Casino

Mohegan Sun wrapped up a phenomenal expansion project in 2002, the crowning glory of which is a 34-story, 1,200-room hotel with a crystal-tinted facade that, according to a casino publication, symbolizes the Mohegan Tribe's "move into the future." It is Connecticut's second tallest building.

The hotel is connected to the casino and offers luxury accommodations including superior, luxury and deluxe rooms with either one king or two queen beds, 175 suites and five hospitality suites. It also boasts a spa, a grand ballroom and convention center and 21 meeting breakout rooms. Room rates start at $199 per night, and prices will fluctuate based on demand.
