George in the Garden

Photo of George Washington Statue in Boston Public Garden

This statue of George Washington on his horse greets visitors to Boston's Public Garden.

Created by Thomas Ball in 1869, it is the first statue of the former president astride a horse. You'll have to take my word for it that there's really a horse, since it's not visible in this close-up.
