Spring Flower Show:
A Virtual Tour
The 1999 New England Spring Flower Show at Boston's Bayside Expo Center runs through this Sunday, March 21, so there's still time to experience the fragrant spectacle of floral and landscaping displays yourself. But... if you can't get to Boston before this week is out, don't despair! Thanks to the wonders of the Internet (and a wonderful toy--my new digital camera) you can come along with me on a virtual tour of the best displays at this year's show!
The theme for 1999 is "Artistry in the Garden." You'll see that the show's award-winning exhibits interpret that motif in as many variations as there are species of garden plants. For example, the photo above is of Stop & Shop's floral rendering of the promotional poster for the show--just one of many gold medal-winning exhibits you'll see in the following pages.
So, make yourself a hot cup of tea, click on the "next" button, and sit back and enjoy the show. Take my word for it, it beats fighting traffic in Boston!
