Where to See Peaking Leaves This Weekend

By October 2, 2013

Follow me on:

The western mountains near Bethel, Maine... Manchester, Vermont, which hosts its annual Fall Art and Craft Festival this weekend... New Hampshire's White Mountains, where it's a wonderful time to drive the Kancamagus Highway, and reports say the colors are intensifying with each passing day... The northern Berkshires in Massachusetts... New York State's legendary Catskill Mountains.... These are some of the places where you're likely to find peak fall foliage conditions if you'll be traveling in the Northeast this first weekend of October.

Be sure to use my Leaf Alert guide to check online foliage reports for all of the New England states, plus neighboring New York, or call one of the region's toll-free foliage hotlines for up-to-date foliage reports and forecasts before you hit the road this weekend.

Also, be sure to consider the fall festivals, fairs and events in New England this weekend if you need more reasons to hit the road.

Can't get away this weekend? As you can see from the latest view outside my window, Mother Nature hasn't finished her work here in New England by any means. It appears there will still be at least one more fabulous foliage weekend ahead.Foliage Aflame photo 2013 Kim Knox Beckius.

Bethel Maine and along Route 17 north the color is muted as of now and I would head further east and North towards Bangor where I’m seeing report from photographers of better color.
Rangeley lake are is pretty but fading.
