Waiting for Hurricane Sandy in New England

By October 29, 2012

Follow me on:

It's the rare day when I don't wish I owned a beach house on the New England shore! The weather is still relatively calm here in central Connecticut (here's the view outside my window at noon), but I have been watching these Hurricane Sandy Web Cams and seeing ominous skies and rising waters along the New England coast.

It's tricky to believe that on the anniversary of last year's catastrophic Halloweenter Snowstorm, we are braced once again for major devastation and power outages here in New England. TIME has the best article I've read on what makes this "Frankenstorm" such a historic and freakish event.

If you're in the path of Hurricane Sandy, my colleague, First Aid Guide Rod Brouhard, has solid advice on what to do before, during and after a hurricane. Stay safe!
