Wednesday November 19, 2008
I'm pleased to share the news with you that my sixth book, The New England Coast: The Most Spectacular Sights & Destinations (compare prices), has been published by Voyageur Press and is now available at online and retail bookstores. This 160-page, hardcover coffee table book features 150 stunning color photos by my collaborator, William H. Johnson, along with insight into the places and experiences that make New England's coast one of the country’s most popular destinations, beloved by year-round residents and seasonal vacationers alike. As I tell readers in the book's introduction: "New England's coast defies easy description. There is a profoundness to each place that even short-term visitors sense, and memories made along New England's shores resonate for a lifetime, sparking a longing to return." I hope this new book, which features more than 65 interviews with fascinating coastal New Englanders including the last lighthouse keeper and a Maine lobsterman who hauls traps with his young grandson by his side, will help many travelers to recall memorable days spent along New England's shore and inspire many more to explore this diverse and storied region.
